The Weekly Report – December 16, 2024
At our February 6 workshop, continuous improvement expert Ally Johnston will show participants how combining lean thinking with leadership skills adds up to major improvements.
Monumental changes often happen one small step at a time. That’s the thinking behind Leading Daily for Results, a program developed by Enterprise Minnesota that connects a company’s strategic direction with daily improvements to yield sustained results.
Business growth consultant Ally Johnston will use an upcoming manufacturing workshop to share how Leading Daily for Results can help all manufacturers. “With the right processes in place, employees are engaged at an authentic and high level,” she says.
Ally will describe how manufacturers can build an environment that promotes and embraces employee-driven improvements. “With Leading Daily for Results, employees are tasked to improve the company’s processes every day. They are empowered to make bold suggestions and try new things. And, importantly, they are allowed to try and fail, and try again,” she says.
Ally explains that the best managers integrate these strategies into daily processes, with employees constantly asking how things can be done better. Process improvements are not add-ons, but integrated into company culture, compounding over time to yield great benefits.
A culture that encourages and rewards that kind of employee engagement boosts retainment immeasurably. “When employees feel they are contributing in a significant way to their employer’s success and ongoing improvement, they feel more connected to the company and more motivated to initiate positive changes,” Ally says.
Ally has shared her practical, manageable approach to continuous improvement and employee engagement with countless companies across the state. Her insights can help your business continue to meet customer demands, improve the bottom line, and retain employees.
“Big continuous improvement events are important,” Ally says, “but incremental daily improvements can yield significant results and boost the value of those big events.”
We hope you can join us on Thursday, February 6 in Plymouth.
You will leave the workshop understanding how:
• Small improvements can add significant value by compounding over time
• To incorporate lean thinking into all areas of your organization
• Employee engagement is key to both continuous improvement and retention
