The Weekly Report – July 18, 2022
Finding opportunities for employees to grow from within.
In a few weeks, we will be heading to Alexandria for one of our manufacturing workshops on a salient topic for all manufacturers in the foreseeable future – talent and leadership development.
Michele Neale, one of Enterprise Minnesota’s top talent and leadership experts – and an Alexandria resident – will present Developing Your Leaders from Within from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on August 24th at Grand Arbor in Alexandria. Michele will showcase the importance of leadership development at all levels of the organization and share six steps for improving employee retention rates, and how to plan for when highly experienced employees move on or retire.
“When employees see a path for growth in a company, they are more likely to stay longer and work more productively,” Michele says. A top priority for all functions inside manufacturing companies should be developing talent. It is not just a function of human resources, she adds, it’s the responsibility of all leadership.
Michele points to a Forbes Magazine article that describes how building resilience and agility in your workplace will give you strength to face any challenge.
Michele notes that achieving this requires a concerted effort from executives and managers, and eventually, the rest of the company’s employees. It can mean a significant boost in your company’s bottom line — almost 35%. She’ll show you how it’s done.
Companies that pay attention to the issues she will talk about experience better decision-making, problem-solving, and communication.
“When your team responds to change with positivity and action, they’ll deliver positively, even when they’re under pressure. It starts with creating a positive ripple. Your daily actions and decisions must have a positive impact on your team. Think about what might happen after the implementation of something new. You need to be strategic in your decision-making as it will affect culture,” Michele says.
We look forward to seeing Alexandria area manufacturers at the workshop.
